Man City 2-0 Burnley: The defending champions get the job done

Manchester City registered a 2-0 win over visiting Burnley at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

Bernardo Silva and Kevin de Bruyne scored in each half as Manchester City labored to a 2-0 victory over a spirited Burnley at the Etihad Stadium.

Burnley's resistance lasted just 12 minutes as Bernardo Silva made the breakthrough. In fairness, it was a chance the Portuguese couldn't miss as Pope parried Foden's drive at his feet and Bernardo Silva rifled in from all of three years.

A goal that set the afternoon up perfectly for City, and one which will have Burnley fearing the worst.

Sterling and Bernardo Silva combined down the left before the ball was rolled into the path of Mahrez on the edge of the box. He had the Burnley goal at his mercy but snatchedd at the shot which clipped the bar on its way over.
