Manchester United terminated contract with the portuguese player after a controversial interview with british broadcaster Piers Morgan. Cristiano Ronaldo is now searching for a club to join. However, Lothar Matthaus believes that Ronaldo will not sign to any club during the January transfer window.
"Cristiano Ronaldo has been without doubt the biggest disappointment of the World Cup 2022. He negatively affected both himself and Portugal. He was a fantastic player, a world-class goalscorer, but he is now constantly destroying his legacy " according to Lothar Matthaus a former Bayern Munich player.
The former Bayern Munich player claims the Ronaldo situation is difficult. He was left on bench for few games including the quarter-final match against Morocco in which Portugal took a defeat.
"I can't imagine him at any club in January, and I feel bad for him." Matthaus commented.
