Adrian Heath hails Emmanuel Reynoso as the best player in MLS

Minnesota United head coach Adrian Heath has heaped praise onto midfielder Emanuel Reynoso, who played an integral part in the team’s last minute 3-2 victory over the Philadelphia Union to maintain their playoff dreams alive.

The Argentine midfielder has recorded four goals and 10 assists so far this season, and become a key player for Minnesota United. His contributions have not gone unnoticed by the head coach as he suggests Reynoso may be the best player currently in Major League Soccer.

"I’ve got to say, you know, I wish I was playing up front, playing in front of Rey at times because his vision and his quality is exceptional. I think he might be the best player in the league at this moment in time. I really do,” said Heath, who won two English league titles and an FA Cup with Everton in the 1980s.

"He’s just got incredible vision and awareness of what’s going on around him. We always say, the people who fetch the most money are the people that can make a goal and score a goal. I want him to score more. But, if we do, as I said, we’ve got one hell of a player for sure."

Reynoso first joined the MLS side midseason in 2020 from Boca Juniors, immediately helping Minnesota United clinch a playoff spot. He went on to make an appearance in the Western Conference final during his first year, recording two goals and 14 assists in 16 games total.
