West Ham United took control in Group H of the Europa League following a 3-0 victory over KRC Genk in a match staged at London Stadium.
The Hammers took the lead just before halftime after an excellent Cresswell delivery that was met by Dawson at the near post and he found the back of the net courtesy of his shoulder.
In the 57th minute, West Ham doubled their lead and it was Cresswell's wand strike again. Diop met his free-kick at the near post with a booming header which hammered in off the bar leaving Vandevoordt with no chance.
A minute later, Arteaga got caught on the ball mucking on the left, and Bowen nipped it off him and heads for goal. A shimmy here, a shake there, and Vandevoordt can only palm his effort into the top corner. And the hosts had two goals in barely 60 seconds.
Victory in the return fixture in Belgium on November 4, two weeks today, will be as good as seeing the Hammers through to the next round.
