Left footed Alaba strike puts Real Madrid ahead

Left footed Alaba strike puts Real Madrid ahead

The visitors took the lead in typical Real Madrid style in 'El Clasico' against Barcelona at the Camp Nou. David Alaba hit a terrific finish into the far corner in the 32nd minute.

The Catalans were dominating possession early on despite hardly threatening Courtois' goal. Madrid were penned back in their own half, but then things changed.

After threatening with two counterattacks, Madrid made it 0-1 at the third time of asking. Vinicius drove forward and combined with his teammate Rodrygo, who opened to the left for an Alaba who took advantage of the open space ahead of him.

The Austrian, who was playing in his first 'Clasico', got into the box and even though he had Benzema in the area, his plan was clear. With Eric Garcia a few metres away, he hit a left footed strike across Ter Stegen which went in at the far corner.
