Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has been described as being ‘hopeful’ he will be fit in time to face Liverpool at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday.
Rashford has scored twice in two appearances for United since returning to action from shoulder surgery that delayed his start to the season. But after kickstarting Wednesday night’s Champions League comeback against Atalanta, the 23-year-old was taken off with a minor knock.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer labelled it a ‘dead leg’ after the final whistle but didn’t appear too concerned and spoke optimistically about Rashford’s availability for the weekend.
“I hope so and I think so. It was a dead leg and sometimes it can take longer than what you want. But if we treat it well, he should be okay,” the United boss said at the time.
The story has now developed and the Daily Mail explains that Rashford underwent treatment at United’s Carrington training base on Thursday morning. As a result of that, the player is said to be optimistic that he will be passed fit in time for Sunday afternoon’s titanic clash.
