PSG beat RB Leipzig 3-2 in the Champions League. Kylian Mbappe scored the opener and Messi scored the Parisians' two remaining goals.
The Argentinian forward's second goal was from the penalty spot. Mbappe got fouled inside the box, but he pointed straight to Messi when the penalty was awarded. It was Mbappe's particular way of saying this one is yours.
When the match was over, Mbappe explained why he let Messi take it. "Why did I let Messi take it? It's something normal, I respect him. He is the best player in the world", he said.
"There is a penalty awarded, he shoots... and it goes in" he claimed. Messi's was not the penalty awarded for PSG during the game. There was another penalty for the French side on the 94th minute, but in this occassion, Mbappe took it and missed it. "The second penalty, he (Messi) wanted to give me one in return but I missed it".
"Messi playing with us is a privilege, if I didn't let him take it...", he said.
