After a loan, Nashville SC signs Jacob Shaffelburg from Toronto FC to a permanent contract.

After being on loan with Toronto FC for the second half of the 2022 MLS season, winger Jacob Shaffelburg has now been permanently signed by Nashville SC.

In 10 appearances across all competitions since joining Nashville in August, Shaffelburg has contributed to two goals and one goal assisted, helping the team advance to the MLS Cup Playoffs for the third consecutive season.

Nashville has paid Shaffelburgh $300k in General Allocation Money (GAM) for his services, and an additional $50k GAM may be due if the 22-year-old performer meets certain performance benchmarks. Shaffelburg committed to a contract that runs through the 2026 MLS season with a one-year extension option.

Shaffelburg, a four-time Canada international, has played 53 times in the MLS regular season so far, contributing to five goals and five goals themselves.

He assisted Toronto in winning the 2020 Canadian Championship by taking Jayden Nelson's place at the break in the game's final as the Reds eventually defeated Forge FC on penalties.
