Lunin, the goalkeeper for Real Madrid, has tested positive for coronavirus.

Andriy Lunin has tested positive for coronavirus, becoming the latest Real Madrid player to do so.

The backup goalkeeper was listed in Madrid's squad for the first two LaLiga games of the season, but he will now be placed in self-isolation for the rest of the season.

He is the fourth Real Madrid player to contract COVID-19 in the last month, following David Alaba, Karim Benzema, and Alvaro Odriozola.

Lunin had previously tested positive while on international duty with Ukraine in October, but it proved out to be a false positive and he was permitted to play again.

On Wednesday, Madrid issued a brief statement on their official website confirming the news, however they did not specify whether the 22-year-old was asymptomatic.

Lunin joined Madrid in 2018 but has only made one appearance for the club, in last season's stunning Copa del Rey defeat to Alcoyano, after three loan periods.

On Saturday, Carlo Ancelotti's team play Real Betis in their final game before the season's first international break.
