Cristiano Ronaldo departs Manchester United without receiving a sizable reward.

As part of his agreement to leave Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo did not have his contract paid up, according to sources, 90min reported.

After his interview with Piers Morgan on TalkTV, in which he openly criticized the club's owners, manager, and structure, the 37-year-old was informed last week that he would not play for the club again.

His actions infuriated United, which was confirmed by 90 minutes, and they gave their lawyers the go-ahead to investigate their options for legal action for contract breach. Following the interview and such scathing, unreserved criticism, their plan was to renege on their agreement.

However, following discussions, the two parties have decided to part ways. Ronaldo had seven months left on a sizable contract worth nearly £15 million, but the 37-year-old has decided not to accept the money.

According to reports, United had to pay a small sum of money to facilitate the deal's termination, but Ronaldo will not receive a sizable payoff of any kind, as both parties were eager to confirm.
