FC Barcelona have confirmed that starlet Ansu Fati has signed a new contract with a €1b release clause, keeping him at Camp Nou until the summer of 2027.
The 18-year-old has already been handed the number 10 jersey this season, following in the footsteps of Blaugrana legend Lionel Messi. The club have made it clear that they consider the teenager to be their future, and the final step was tying him down to a long-term deal.
And following their 1-0 victory over Dynamo Kyiv on Wednesday evening, Barça confirmed that Fati would be staying in Catalonia. The club announced that the Spaniard has signed a new contract until the summer of 2027, while a €1b release clause has been inserted into the deal.
The starlet is widely considered to be one of the most prestigious talents in world football, even if he has been forced to be patient after suffering a serious knee injury, which caused him to undergo a series of operations.
However, Fati made his return from injury against Levante in September, and he marked the occasion with a goal. He came on as a substitute in the defeat to Atletico Madrid, but started in the 3-1 win over Valencia, once again ending up on the scoresheet.
