Whitecaps 2, the Vancouver Whitecaps' MLS NEXT Pro affiliate, has signed forward Simon Becher to a contract.
With additional options for 2024, 2025, and 2026, Becherand39;s contract has a 2023 MLS season expiration date.
The sporting director of VWFC, Axel Schuster, stated in a club press release that "Simon joined us from the SuperDraft last January and is another example of how crucial having our MLS NEXT Pro team is to having a path to the first team." "Simon demonstrated to us throughout his first season at the club that he possesses the traits we value in a player, both on and off the field.
Whitecaps 2's 23-year-old player Becher has prior MLS experience as well; in an eight-minute cameo, he scored as the Vancouver Whitecaps overcame the Houston Dynamo to defeat them 2-1 in August.
