After eight months on the sidelines, Seattle Sounders' Jordan Morris is finally on the verge of returning to full fitness.
The United States international has been working to overcome an ACL tear sustained while on loan at Swansea City back in February - one which once again curtailed his chances of playing in Europe.
The Sounders have coped well in his absence and currently sit top of the Western Conference. But with the post-season moving into view, Morris would undoubtedly offer a huge boost given his record of six goals and two assists in 16 previous MLS Cup Playoff appearances.
The 26-year-old has been back in training for some time now. Ahead of their trip to the Houston Dynamo this weekend, Seattle head coach Brian Schmetzer revealed Morris is now just awaiting medical approval to return to competitive action.
"He's at his doctor to get final clearance to come back in absolute full, full, full training. That's where he's at. He will meet us in Houston," Schmetzer said (via MLSsoccer.com). "We will hear from the doctors what they say, but I know what our medical staff is saying, that he has to complete X amount of training and he'll be eligible for selection.
