PSG will play Ligue 1 champions Lille at the Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv on Sunday evening in the hopes of winning their ninth consecutive French Super Cup.
In the last decade, PSG has dominated the French Cup. They won the title eight times in a row, scoring at least two goals each time.
After defeating Marseille 2-1 in January, Les Parisiens won the previous Super Cup trophy this year.
PSG, on the other hand, lost the far more significant Ligue 1 title last season, finishing a point behind Lille at the end of the season.
It was a huge setback for the team that had dominated French football for the previous 10 years, winning seven Ligue 1 titles since 2012/13.
Last season, these two teams met three times, with each team earning a win, a draw, and a defeat in the process).
Lille did not concede a goal in two Ligue 1 matches against PSG, but Les Parisiens thrashed Lille 3-0 in the French Cup R16 meeting.
Intriguingly, none of the last five head-to-head meetings between the two teams had seen goals scored on both sides.
PSG are the bookmakers' favorite, but we can't see why we should back them at 1.83 odds. To begin with, Mauricio Pochettino will be without the services of several key first-team regulars for this match. The Argentine manager will need some time to settle in all of the newcomers in the future.
Lille's squad is virtually unchanged, and they will be difficult to break down here (much like they have been throughout the entire last season). Our major betting option is the Under 2.5 goals FT at 1.91 odds, but you can also support Lille not to lose in normal time at 1.83 odds.
