Manchester United were advised to exercise warning of their reported bid to signal prolific Roma striker Tammy Abraham this summer season.

Since arriving in Rome, Abraham has flourished underneath former United, Chelsea and Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho. Indeed, the frontman has loved a stellar campaign to date, notching 23 times and adding four assists.

And with the futures of Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Edinson Cavani all presently uncertain, the Red Devils had been tipped to make a surprise flow for Abraham.

A report from Italian information outlet Corriere della Sera claims that United are willing to spend €90m (£75m) on the ahead.

However, former England striker Kevin Phillips is not convinced that could be a sensible move.

Phillips advised Football Insider, whilst requested about United’s hobby in Abraham: “I’m now not sure for that type of money.
