Thomas Tuchel has his best forward available against Aston Villa, but N'Golo Kante, Christian Pulisic, and maybe Thiago Silva are all out.
Thomas Tuchel has declared Romelu Lukaku ready for Saturday's match against Aston Villa, but is dubious about Thiago Silva's availability.
Lukaku confirmed he was scheduled for a scan after picking up a knock in his 100th Belgium game against the Czech Republic last weekend. He has scored in each of his past five Premier League matches against Aston Villa.
Lukaku, on the other hand, returned to training totally fit, according to Tuchel.
Tuchel told reporters on Friday that Lukaku's injury was a concern "No, and He may have had some difficulties, but he returned and trained with us with no issues."
While Lukaku is expected to start at Stamford Bridge, the Blues are awaiting word on whether Silva will be able to play.
Due of quarantine rules, Premier League teams decided not to release players to South American countries for international service, and Brazil replied by pushing for FIFA to impose bans on their absent stars.
Since Tuchel's arrival, Silva has played a key role in ensuring Chelsea has the Premier League's meanest defense (excluding clubs promoted from the Championship), conceding just 14 goals, but he could be forced to miss out.
Tuchel said, "Thiago [Silva] isn't officially out." "The chairman is still in the process of negotiating. I'm awaiting the ultimate outcome. We'll make the most recent choice first thing tomorrow morning.
"I don't get it, and it doesn't make any sense from any perspective. Was it a good idea for Brazil? No. Did it make sense to you and me? He might not be able to play two matches, so no.
