Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce is set to reach a managerial landmark when they host Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Bruce who is under intense pressure following a winless start to the season will be seeing his 1000th match of his managerial career but should be worried as he has only won four of his 26 encounters with Tottenham Hotspur in all competitions (D9 L13).
In his 999 games, the Englishman has managed 376 wins, drew 254, and lost 369 in his stints with Birmingham City, Wigan Athletic, Sunderland, and Newcastle
Bruce will be worried too of striker Harry Kane whose five of the six league goals he'' scored against Newcastle coming at St James’ Park. He’s only scored more away goals against Leicester City (eight) and Everton (seven) in the competition than he has against the Magpies.
According to the PL, Spurs have lost just one of their last 18 Premier League matches against sides starting the day in the relegation zone (W13 D4), although that defeat did come against Newcastle (1-0 in August 2019).
