Thomas Tuchel has insisted that he does not regret Chelsea’s summer sales up front, following injuries to Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner.
The Belgian striker reportedly faces a month out after encountering an ankle problem on Wednesday. He limped off in the first half of Chelsea’s 4-0 Champions League win over Malmo.
Blues boss Tuchel said in the immediate aftermath of the game that the injury did not look good.
To compound his concerns, though, Lukaku’s strike partner Werner also went off injured against Malmo.
The pair are alongside Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic as Chelsea’s major attacking options. Indeed, they let go of Tammy Abraham, Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi in the summer.
