Rumours have been circulating in England in recent hours that Liverpool were working at the continuity of Jurgen Klopp, whose settlement with the Reds expired on 30th June 2024.
And on Thursday the German manager's renewal became finally showed. Just a day after the British crew beat Villarreal within the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals (2-zero).
Klopp himself introduced his settlement extension, which runs till 2026: “There are such a lot of phrases I ought to use to explain how I am feeling about this information… delighted, humbled, blessed, privileged and excited might be a start. This is my place.
Assistants Pepijn Lijnders and Peter Krawietz have also put pen to paper on new phrases, mirroring those of Klopp’s and reaffirming their determination to the venture, which started out with the German’s appointment in October 2015.
Klopp now has numerous challenges beforehand of him: to try and beat Manchester City within the Premier League - they are separated via just one point - and to win the Champions League. For now, Liverpool took a massive step forward towards Villarreal and have a foot and a 1/2 within the final.
