A sluggish Tottenham fell to a 1-0 Europa Conference League defeat at the hands of Vitesse Arnhem, whose winner came through a sweet volley.
The first 45 minutes featured little to talk about, but Vitesse were on top.
In the second half, Spurs reacted by hitting the bar, but the hosts got their dominance back and claimed a deserving winner to leave their opponents third in Group G with three games to go.
The first half proved a lively affair, but there were few chances of note. Still, Joe Rodon’s sloppy pass in the first minute put Vitesse on the front foot and that trend continued.
Nikolai Frederiksen had a low shot saved by Pierluigi Gollini, before Steven Bergwijn and Dane Scarlett just failed to link up with a pass.
