Wenger suggests referees give post-match interviews

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has called on football authorities to compel referees to give post-match interviews just like coaches.

In his coaching career, Wenger who is currently FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development had a rough time with officials and spoke about them vividly in his book (My Life in Red and White).

Speaking during French football’s refereeing convention, Wenger said that he would be in favour of referees appearing in press conferences.

"It would be a good way to avoid controversy and shut them down before they become a public debate. We would have to get the support of referees, and I don’t know what kind of state of mind they’re in after games to be able to give an opinion,” Wenger said as relayed by the Independent.
