Arsenal defender William Saliba has stated that if he is to hold in North London, he requires regular playing time.
Since joining Arsenal in 2019, the France international has made simply eight appearances for the Gunners' Under-23 crew and has been loaned out to Saint-Etienne, Nice, and Marseille.
Saliba has installed himself as a everyday for Olympiens, who're pursuing the Champions League, and his performance within the 2021-22 season earned him his first name-up to the senior France squad.
When he returns in the summer, the 21-yr-old is expected to be integrated into Mikel Arteta's first squad, although he has said that he would now not be content with a backup position at the Emirates.
Speaking to L'Equipe, Saliba said: "I truely can't accept being on the bench at Arsenal and being satisfied [with it]. I need to be a starter. But then if I do get into the rotation as a substitute, it wouldn't be like staying with the U23 and by no means being on the group.
"They [Arsenal] are in touch with my agent [Djibril Niang]. They send me messages. They watch my games. They tell me I want to hold on like this. I haven't performed lots with the Gunners.
"The manager [Mikel Arteta] made his choice, it really is life. I left on mortgage, I'm gambling quite a few fits, and thanks to my performances, I've end up a complete global.
"What came about to me has seen me forge a stronger mentality. It's no longer due to the fact you value €30m (£25.3m) that you're going to play. I see things definitely. Even if there are moments in which you ask your self questions. For six months, I should see I changed into the handiest one in the squad that wasn't gambling, that could hurt."
Saliba earlier said that continuing at Marseille "would not be a horrible idea," but Jorge Sampaoli's facet had been allegedly hit with a one-yr switch ban via FIFA in January following their acquisition of Pape Gueye.
