Cristiano Ronaldo will make his first Manchester United debut since his sensational deal from Juventus when Newcastle comes to Old Trafford on Saturday, according to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Ronaldo, the Portuguese superstar, returned to United in a surprise move just before the transfer deadline.
The 36-year-old striker, who joined Real Madrid in 2009 after leaving Manchester United, has been working with his new teammates for the previous few days.
Ronaldo will play at least some part in United's Premier League match against Newcastle, according to manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but it is unclear if the five-time Ballon d'Or winner will start or come off the bench.
During six trophy-laden years with United, Ronaldo won three Premier League titles and the Champions League, before going on to excel with Real and Juventus.
His stature as one of the game's all-time greats is undeniable, but when Manchester City sought to sign him, it appeared like United would miss out on a reunion with their former star.
Ronaldo stated his friendship with former United boss Alex Ferguson was instrumental in persuading him to return to the club.
"Of course, we've followed his career from afar since he left here," said Solskjaer, who played with Ronaldo during his first tenure at the club. "I believe everyone's really glad to welcome him back."
